Handing out the cookies, 2012 LUMS Feast

Since Lutheran Urban Mission Society has closed its doors, we now serve the homeless SUM Feast.

Once a year we serve frikadeller, pasta, and vegetable sauce to 300–500 homeless people through Lutheran Urban Mission Society. We also serve coffee, juice, and homemade cookies, and we distribute bags of fruit. Every year our food is very well received; many of our guests make a point of expressing their appreciation.

We have a wonderful and both physically and emotionally exhausting four hours downtown. Thank you very much to those who bake, cook, serve, and clean or donate money to this event. But most of all, thank you to LUMS and to our guests downtown for providing this opportunity for exercising our faith.

If you would like to participate, please consult our planning page.

Make us worthy, Lord, to serve those throughout the world who live and die in poverty or hunger. Give them, through our hands, this day their daily bread; and by our understanding love, give peace and joy. Amen.
